Genuinely impressed with the GB Operator as a game boy camera tool. I did not expect it to function with a flash cart running a custom ROM but surprisingly it all just...works??

The main obstacle I've had with this game boy camera prototype over the years is that wiring a bunch of glitch controls into a tiny cartridge is completely at odds with portability and ergonomics. My hope is the GB Operator can at least take the game boy + capture equipment out of the equation

So far the one thing about the android app that causes me concern is that it'll straight up disconnect the cart if the shutter speed drops below a certain speed (even if you set it that way manually on purpose!!). I have a feeling the desktop version might be more forgiving though

I wish devices like this were a little more friendly to camera rigs but I know I'll find a way. I literally filmed a dash cam video with a SNES after all. Excited to see the ribbon cable/mounting brackets inside here though. Seems like it can be transplanted into another box pretty easily...
