'There are fuzzy lines here that I haven’t fully considered, I’m sure. Am I okay with using machine learning to remove powerlines and jet trails from video footage in period movies? I’m pretty sure! 'Am I okay with using generative “A.i.” to build entire scenes based on stolen footage? No!"'

The film industry is moving a LOT faster than the comics business to embrace "A.i." slop and displace actual creative professionals. Directors in particular seem to be embracing it, which saddens me, since that creates rifts between the different crafts. Seems bad all 'round!

I've got enormous respect for her work and legacy, the same way I have enormous respect for the work and legacy of Scorsese, Alison Bechdel, and Art Spiegelman. But I also believe all of them have failed the rest of us in the creative community by using generative "A.i." in their work.
