I published a paper in 2023 on the potential for companies with dual-class shares (DCS) to engage in norm-breaking behavior. The gap between “regular” companies like Apple & Microsoft and DCS companies like Meta (one of my examples), SpaceX, CBS & ByteDance since then has exceeded my expectations.
