I've been trying to use more "catchy" titles lately but really struggled with this one. seems like everyone has their own association with Alex's work. so i've got some kinda wacky A/B title testing going on here. 😅

even my big memories of this guy are split. I followed his tracker work since hearing Snowfall (see link), but Alex also has the honor of being the composer of that vgm i recorded with a tape next to the tv speaker as a kid: the N64 Vigilante 8 tunes.

something I only barely touched on in this video is that Alex is also a voice actor! it's so wild to me that you can draw a line from Unreal to Skyrim just from Alex's involvement in both projects! speaking of, i'd like to also share this really cool video that alex made last year

I'd prefer the non-catchy episodic ones over the "quirky" ones tailored for horrible teenagers who say shit like "Genesis soundfont". Always thought the all lowercase title thing for vids like these was tacky and offputting.

i'd love to expose teenagers to the depths of oldschool game music though :P but hmm. tacky, eh? i can see it. i don't think it tips the scales for me yet though. it feels like the connecting tissue between the somewhat-inherently-tacky FYP miasma and the actual content of my video.
