In case you were worried, I'm still unreasonably obsessed with clouds and getting them to look as good as possible with as few controls as possible ☁️ Using curves to set properties over normalized height seems to help, but I feel like it's not quite there yet πŸ˜… #gamedev #unity3d #madewithunity

Completely out of pocket question but in theory how hard do you reckon it would be to make an ocean out of volumetric clouds? Like with moving waves of cloud. Ive had an idea for a game/art piece involving that for years but Im so shader illiterate despite a decent amount of years doing 3D πŸ˜‚

Weirdly enough I did something like that way in the past πŸ‘€ if you're familiar with raymarching for clouds and setting up waves (in this case it's Gerstner waves) you can easily get there. It's worth mentioning that this particular example ran at ~10FPS though, but it was a very quick and silly test

Sure thing! I can also link some resources that could help with volumetric raymarching and clouds, but feel free to reach out in general if you need any pointers ✨
