it's funny being able to look at the internet now at the age "not that old at all" and be able to recognize that it's very, very different from the internet that i grew up using

granted, obviously i'm not an objective observer of these things. it was probably still happening long before i noticed, probably even when i was a teenager. maybe it's just that having taken some steps far far away from social media as an adult i can see it that way, now

but, still, i can't imagine what people in the age range of 14-16 who suddenly got a huge following might be thinking. i mean, maybe i can (IYKYK), but it gets me feeling a little sad anyway.
