We can do that. With current technologies and the growing world-wide acceptance of these technologies, we are closer than ever before. We just need to get rid of Citizens United, the GOP control of Government, and fossil fuel’s Congressional grift. Vote accordingly on Nov. 3rd.

Wind, solar and battery storage are ready today. Geothermal is coming up and, if V2G gets traction, we can replace fossil fuels. V2G is vehicle-to-grid. Your car becomes a rolling battery and can exchange power with the grid. Your parked car can give to the grid and charge when rates are cheap.

Make privatization of government services unconstitutional. In other words, an Amendment to the Constitution that formally separates corporate and state. Making the whole of the American People the verified and established sovereign authority of the United States, period.

It’s the electric utilities that block home solar They got the states to get rid of net metering, set limits on production, push for no first use of production, high connection fees. Instead they push clear cutting forests or removing farm land for massive government subsided solar farms they run

Maybe it's not the oil and gas companies. " Maybe it's just the idea of having more money as the be all end all goal. Maybe if we places more value on people and doing good things for them instead of just making money. Like other countries do.

There are certainly challenges, but that is the first step. Dems need to lead a national conversation on progressive values (this is where I think Biden failed). If they don’t create and keep a public pressure to expand SCOTUS and vote against “conservatives”, we will continue to crawl.

Idealistic questions about a rooftop revolution won't dismantle entrenched oil monopolies. The geopolitical leverage of fossil fuels is absolute until a severe alternative is strictly enforced.

Its possible, some countries run exclusively on alternative energy.. mostly solar. Trump's fossil fuel buddies keep telling him to thwart continued development of clean energy but it keeps finding new and better ways to provide energy... China more the 20% energy from solar, Iceland 100%

no other energy source that surpasses gas/diesel in energy density except .. hydrogen, nuclear. Both of those come with different requirements making them less viable. Until they develop a source that’s just as energy dense and as stable easy to obtain as gas/diesel, it’s not happening

Exactly why energy independence matters. We shouldn’t have to rely on invading countries or taking their resources when we can invest in clean energy at home. Isn’t that a better path forward?

Billionaires did not exist before tax codes were changed. Stolen tax benefits that use to help millions got funneled to top 10% Stolen Social benefit taxes being funneled to top 10% Stolen wages going to top 10% now Stolen healthcare benefits going to top 10% Stolen Pension funneled into 401K's WTFU

FDR turned the tables on the oligarchy class. He had congress write tax codes that ensure the wealthy invested into our country Paid a good wage, invested in products, healthcare, pensions to get tax breaks. These are the laws we need back They paid politicians to change the tax codes.

It is THE reason we had (have) a middle class. We were the first country to ever have a large one. Without this type of policy, you get a small landed gentry, a small middle class, and a huge working poor. Basically, most of “civilized” history. Reagan started the destruction of that system.

Sad, knowing what is possible, feeling like it will never happen in this selfish billionaire atmosphere of greed. It's possible, yet we see our planet, our wildlife, destroyed! A place in Germany did this. Yet look at us. Credits don't do any good btw if you haven't got the other chunk of $$.

No fan of Reagan, but wind, solar, geothermal, wave, all these technologies actually got a huge boost from the lease/purchase provisions of his tax plan. I'm sure it wasn't planned that way, but they allowed investors to take risks that might otherwise not taken.

I would have to be shown an analysis of data on your claims. I don’t think that any positive avenues pursued by clean energy would come anywhere near to the federally backed financial advantages given to fossil fuels.
