Seattle is one of the best places in the world in my book. As a trans person you can just ask your community stuff and someone is bound to have the resources. I said I wanted an electrical apprenticeship, and a trans woman took me on a job site to learn. If I was still in a red state I’d be dead.

I am studying to become a master electrician and will likely branch off into HVAC since I do literally all this shit already for fun. It’s silly how the certs and title are required for the job but I can understand commercially… the need to be bonded and with insurance is non negotiable.

If you can work with sheet metal and run duct work, you will never want for employment. Electricians are needed, HVAC is needed even more, and 90% of the guys that actually know how to work with sheet metal to run new ducts are retiring. It's a skill that is REALLY needed.
