AI ruined the tech industry? I don't know when you started working as a tech, but it was ruined long before that. Blaming AI for the problems of corporate control of technology is not an intelligent thing to do.

I graduated college right as AI was taking off. Its been 3 years and I have yet to get a job in my field and seeing everyone so heavily invested in AI it makes me wonder if I even want a job in this field anymore.

Probably very little comfort to hear but I am in the same boat. Two decades. The shame of it is that the quality will only plummet and only the AI providers will see any real profit. A pity.

i started studying to get into web development or software engineering during my free time back in like 2021 only for this stuff to rear its ugly head and make me realize that becoming a painter like i actually wanted originally was somehow becoming about as safe.

What's sad is I know some of the furries that built these AI models. Furries caused these problems and it honestly makes me pissed off. They just keep silent in the community so they don't hear the backlash.

That's awful... I have been trying to get back into industrial design work, but things look bleak for me getting back into that right now. I gotta find a career that is stable and pays enough to live on. I'm driving paratransit minibuses in the meantime, but the pay is rough and inconsistent.

I'm finally hard committing to my dreams of writing and studying language/people more. Fuck it. An author is more important today than ever before, and my finally being on ADHD pills has already made me quite a bit more capable at consistently writing. X3

Currently looking into maybe doing online uni to study Sociology or English for my undergrad. uvu

Will it make money? Is it wise? I don't fucking know and I don't fucking care. I'll bend the world into my own design before I let tech CEOs dictate what I can do with my life, lol.
