Behind that question sits a dated tenant decision: the Store Microsoft 365 customer data in-country setting, visible since 14 Sep, takes effect 14 Dec 2026. It covers Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams. Choosing On again later can take about 6 months to re-commit data. Per Microsoft Learn.
