The way it portrays different people’s struggles with mental illness still sticks. I think there is empathy for everyone, but the narrative doesn’t shy away from the consequences of “losing” their battles. James, Eddie, and Angela could all have “good endings”, but only one is up to the player.

Most days, I hate James. He’s a coward; a narcissistic bastard who did horrible things, but that’s not everything the game tells you about him. He’s also a broken man who had to witness his partner suffer tremendously. How he ends up depends on you, the player, and that has to be accounted for.
