Absolutely horrendous frequencies on the Istanbul U3 line during rush hour. That’s a next train in 18 and 42 minutes

It’s a Marmaray train? I was expecting some light rail to pull up, but it seems like they integrated it into the Marmaray system on the historic approach to Sirkeci station, the end of the Orient Express.

The fact that they BOTCHED the only central terminal for trains to Europe with this will bother me forever. Single-track, no planning on the casks of timetables and no chance that regular mainline trains will ever reach the Bosphorus from other European countries.

The reality is that this would have never made sense anyway. 2 through tracks, all marmaray trains through the tunnel. the bad part is frequency and how it doesn't serve its (local) purpose well, like the path that is hard to get to. But it will never serve international trains.
