Even on the heels of a historically successful election and the largest protest in US history, Chuck Schumer’s caucus caved in the shutdown fight. Senate Democrats need bold new leadership to fight the Trump regime, and that starts by making Schumer step aside: indivisible2026.org?utm_source=b...

"But what if instead of telling people that we're going to make their lives materially better, we just tell them that Trump is bad, or better yet say nothing at all!" -Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, probably.

I have yet to see anyone explain how Schumer was supposed to force the Republicans to break. They were perfectly happy to let the shutdown go on indefinitely, the public be damned. The shutdown was a trap.

The shutdown was never going to achieve any more power for Dems. I was shocked when they first capitulated but it was necessary when so many people were suffering, that was about to get much worse. A government system that shuts down is stupid and really should be corrected.

Democracy counts on opposition. I’ll happily support other candidates for senate/house (could someone take on @reptedlieu.bsky.social he’s become such a disappointment). But after the primary whoever wins I will vote for. I’ll be damned if I let more people suffer with MAGA running things

a prerequisite to electing a new leader is for someone to step forward and say they want the job. no one has done that. no one wants that difficult and thankless job. what’s the name? who has stepped forward? no one

We hope they'll be progressive candidates. There's no more "vote blue no matter who." The establishment must go. Universal Healthcare Food Housing Education Equality Justice Womens rights Tax the rich Infrastructure Climate Unity Joy Dreams for all should be priority. Humanity first! Global!

Usually I agree with you. I think you’re wrong on this. It’s a very good thing the government reopened when it did. Public opinion was turning on the shutdown and people would start blaming democrats because so many people are uneducated and uninformed.

As far as I’m concerned, Fetterman is the only democratic senator that needs to go. And….he’s MY senator and I voted for him. And, now, I’m ashamed of him. We do need younger leaders, but where are they? Maybe N0W they are showing themselves? I hope so.
