🧵 “Nice people made the best Nazis.. They got along, refused to make waves, looked the other way when things got ugly and focused on happier things than “politics.” They were lovely people who turned their heads as their neighbors were dragged away. You know who weren’t nice people? Resisters.”

One of the first political protests I ever attended was at the Univ. of Pittsburgh against the Vietnam War. One of the speakers was Tom Hayden of the Chicago 7, who brought along his wife who had just cut her hair short & was one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen. Glad she's still truckin'

Pittsburgh always has great rallies. Wish I could be there instead of in Tucson where it will be 90+ degrees and we never have speakers for some reason. But I'll still be out pushing my walker with signs attached.
