I'm going to do the HARDEST thing (for me)... I'm turning everything off I'm already boycotting most of the platforms I used to rely on So I'm going to hard log off of all the rest No streaming. No e-reading. No shopping. No "eyeballs" on social media. No phone. No driving. Yard work. All day!

Beyond May Day, everyone should, for example, join or start tool libraries, start informal fix-it groups, have Free Stores. That is, get creative in your own communities so you don’t have to rely on corporations for items you need. We need to transition away from that. Meanwhile - SHOP LOCAL 🚫Amazon

Holding my breath. Seems like the return on this effort will reflect mostly employers' willingness to give workers the day. Otherwise, how many will be able to participate without dire stress?

Yeah, I'll participate, but c'mon. When you're so super broke and waiting for the first of the month to meet very basic needs, it's a big ask. I guarantee we will have no gas, no food, no meds, etc., on the first. And, again, we'll participate, but this is plastic straws all over again.

Thank you for all your efforts into retraining the masses to fight back. The 70s was over 50 years ago and we have fallen into complacency. It sure feels slow considering at the speed this regime tearing this nation apart. Hopefully extended protests start before years end! #removetheregime

I don't understand how avoiding my indie coffee shop on Friday will help. I can see avoiding big box stores and Amazon (that's every day) can help. Am I missing a piece of information?

I took the day off and said no when asked to come in for a special project. Not spending money will be easy… I’ve cut down drastically in my spending and am sacking the extra money away for the big celebration we are all anticipating.
