Trump and his enablers will try everything in their power to rig the midterms and cling to control by minority rule. We’re not going to panic or give the fascists power that they don’t really have. What we’re going to do is defeat the regime’s election sabotage with preparation and people power. 🧵

For now, if you live in a red state, you may want to think about voting in person and taking your passport. If they try to deny you a ballot, record the situation for physical record. It sucks but here we are.

Tomorrow marks 10 weeks until the midterms. The most important action you can take today is to start making your plan to vote — and checking that your friends and family are doing the same. With all the threats to mail voting, we highly recommend voting early to ensure the integrity of your ballot.

Then join Hands Off Our Vote, the nationwide organizing to build the infrastructure we need to respond to attacks on voting rights in any community. You’ve got an especially important role to play in this election if you’re in Alaska, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, or Texas.

Per Skye Perryman, Democracy Forward: SCOTUS didn’t say that what this administration is trying to do on mail-in voting is lawful — no court will say that. Mail-in voting remains a valid way to vote, and attempts to undermine it will be met with swift legal challenges that the people will win.

It’s 70 days to Election Day. But only 60 or less days to early voting. Prepare now. Plan your vote now. Make planning to vote a thing - at work, church, school, in your neighborhood and your family. Set days and times to vote together and celebrate your vote!

#30million8/30 It is far past the time to react. March in August to protest the regime. March in September to protest the fascism. March in October to protest the failed Legislators. March in November to the polls to be heard. NATIONWIDE PROTEST 8/30 RISE UP! OVERTHROW! END FASCISM IN AMERICA!

The power they don't really have? Fascists take power for themselves and take it away from others. What do you mean power they don't have? The supreme court is just handing them power to turn the US elections into Russian elections.

Lots of headlines on SCOTUS mail-in ballots ruling are wrong. A different injunction blocking the executive order still holds and the Post Office's proposed rule will probably be enjoined too. It ain't over yet. Steve Vladeck sets the matter straight: www.stevevladeck.com/p/246-making...

I do want to make note that the League of Women Voters injunction against this EO is still intact for now, meaning the EO is still blocked, and the USPS Final Rule is frozen. There's the chance that by Wednesday, Judge Talwani will issue a TRO blocking the final rule. bsky.app/profile/stev...

#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three Dem. appointees, #SCOTUS has *granted* the Trump administration’s request to freeze a district court injunction that had blocked the mail-in ballots executive order. But Trump’s EO remains blocked by a different injunction in a different case—at least for now:

Having said that, I'd urge voters who vote by mail to have backup plans ready, like going to a drop box to drop it off (not using USPS for that matter), or voting early in person (except for Alabama, Mississippi, and New Hampshire). Vote Early Day just happens to be on October 24th this year.
