Apple's internal politics demand the safer, more private, low-tax web always remain inferior to the proprietary native apps it profits from through enclosure. This sometimes escapes the lips of Fruit Co. employees as "native and web solve different problems." Pure, uncut horseshit.

Friends of the web have their allegiances weaponised against them though this dodge. We're meant to feel bad that WebKittens can't take the web's side or push back. This creates a rhetorical structure in which the truth – that if the web is worse, it's largely Apple's doing – cannot be said.
