While I agree about this issue with SemVer (and I unfortunately follow the same bad 0.x practice as you, instinctively), I don't feel well thinking about 100-based version numbers. v100.x, v200.x etc feel overwhelming

i like the jump which signals a bigger change but v1100.0.1 feel too large it's meaningless

I wish we could just go EPOCH.MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, though ideally we'd just have EPOCH.MAJOR.MINOR Not possible unfortunately

I don’t like it either, it doesn’t look elegant. But I have to accept it’s logical better than 0.x, under the requirements of being compatible with SemVer.
