yeah. he’s no spring chicken. thus attention to the VP pick. there’s no reason to think he’d not choose a milquetoast pre-MAGA GOP-er, if revulsion by that point didn’t compel him to do even better than that. advice and consent of a senate that would have just convicted.

i wonder if there’s a better chance of a 2026 wipeout election where senate seats in oklahoma etc are suddenly competitive, and that gets you to 67 convictors, or if it’s close enough that enough of the R survivors want to stop the nonsense, or things are bad enough before next Nov first.

i’m not going to argue with whichever path gets us to a survivable shoreline. 2026 seems a lifetime away, though, given the pace of the vandalism and arson. maybe it slows and we can make it ‘til then.
