INTERPOL explained. What we do, what guides us, and why it matters. A thread 🧵

We connect law enforcement in 196 member countries, so they can work directly with their counterparts - even between countries which do not have diplomatic relations.

INTERPOL brings the global law enforcement community together around one shared vision: Together against crime.

We provide global access to criminal data, investigative and operational support, analysis, training and capacity building, as well as innovative tools and technologies.

From tackling organized crime groups to locating fugitives and criminal assets, we help law enforcement respond to crime in real time.

We advocate for law enforcement priorities, highlighting the challenges and needs at the highest levels of policymaking.

We continue to strengthen processes and skills, applying new technologies, while upholding transparency, ethics and international legal standards.
