In the 20 years following 9/11, the U.S. spent over $21 trillion on militarization. Yesterday, the House passed an NDAA bringing us closer to a $1 trillion Pentagon budget. For too long, hawks have used the tragedy of 9/11 to supercharge militarism at the cost of our needs and safety. Enough.

Clearly the military budget must be cut. Increasing spending on weapons of war only invites more violence. I recognize this is a significant industry in the US, but there are so many better ways to spur economic growth. When are we going to grow up?

At least once a week I reflect sadly on what a different world we would be living in if the Supreme Court had not stolen the 2000 election and installed the illegitimate war criminal George W Bush...

sadly- we've become the country the terrorists who attacked us wanted. Divided and destroying our democracy and our standing in the world in the past 24 years, with an acceleration in the past 10. The terrorists couldn't be happier and I am sadder every single day. I want the America we were the day

We were united in committing worldwide war. And hate crimes against Muslim people spiked. 911 was a sad day and our response was even sadder. Unified in vengeance. And we have been at war ever since

It is far worse than it appears. The USA spends more than twice as much on the Military as China & Russia combined. It spends as more as the next 10 countries combined! Ike warned us about the military industrial complex, too bad we didn’t heed his warnings!
