The nature of the incident is unclear at this time, but in a statement issued just before 9am tonight, Gardaí said that the road is closed and local traffic diversions will remain in place overnight to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to examine the scene, which would indicate that the man's injuries are very serious in nature.
