"Supergirl" is one of the worst superhero movies I've ever watched. It's actually so bad that I can't finish it in 3 days... 😅 I think they cast the right person for the job (Milly Alcock), but the plot is soooo dumb I can't believe anyone decided it's a good idea to go with it.

I absolutely loved it. And the reason is because I went into it thinking “this is going to be a comic book movie and it’s not anything besides that.” I like the “Guardians” vibe without being a “joke a minute” movie. Was it the best movie ever, nah. But I think it was solid for the genre.

I obviously don't expect much from comic book movies, but the plot was really thin even by the low standards of the genre. Would have been nice if there was a bit of depth to the supporting characters as well. I do think they aimed to make something in the spirit of "Guardians", but fell flat.

I think that’s a fair assessment. The plot was just backdrop to tell SGs origin story in a non linear way really. It was supposed to be comic book simple I think, for that reason. But I can understand it not having enough heft too. To me it felt like a 3-4 issue arc.
