the way this works stop killing games likely wouldnt protect, all a game needs to be is in a playable state, they could argue the "Play now" mode counts as playable pretty easily

It’s the inability to create private servers to keep the game alive that SKG would prevent. When companies delist a product like this they’d be compelled to have an “exit strategy” where they make private tools available. They’re not on the hook to update any of that stuff past final release tho.
