But, but, anyone who's browsed the internet for a mere few days would have come across a website error page listing a PHP error. It's so common! A real journo would think, hmm, what is this stuff?
Would they? Like what? Give me some examples.
I have used the internet everyday. I can't think when I saw a php error.
Unless the site is in some kind of debug mode, it is unlikely to be shown.
I frankly don't believe you're saying this. PHP and wordpress are basically entry level website authoring. Democratised the internet. A simple database error (easily done by an amateur) can cause a PHP error page. I'm sorry for you that you've only restricted yourself to corporate sites
Sites like Wordpress etc have de-bug turned OFF by default, so if there is an error, it won't apear on the page. This is for security reasons. When de-bug is on, then it will show a ton of detailed information on the actuall page where the problem is.
All you get is a 500 error or something. Which doesn't need to have been PHP. It could be an htaccess error. But actual PHP errors, ones that debuggers pump out, only show if the debugger is enabled. And they are not an "error page." PS, I have spent the day coding in php. No error page.
