I probably don't talk about it enough, but we made a package to help in building up a changelog and handling releases. We made it for @tauri.app as we needed to release multiple Rust crates and JavaScript npm packages all from the same repo, coordinated. github.com/jbolda/covec...

Jacob! I'm so glad you posted this, it's how I found your profile! We use covector at our company (www.flightscience.ai) and I love it! Releases & PRs are so fast and convenient. Was wondering today: do you know of any projects that have successfully automated creation/maintenance of config.json?

😍 Are there specific parts of it that you are looking to automate? I've been slowly working with the idea of "presets" which has added some common functionality as little pieces you can reference. Basically reduce the size of common functions such as a "fetch".

In the same repo, right? The next big update I was looking at is essentially applying a config to a glob. "Use this config for `./**/package.json`." I have some upstream work I've been helping push through, then this is probably the next thing to dive into.

If you need to release one or many of those (and other languages too!), then give it a look. We also use it for publishing our GitHub Action and VSCode extension.
