This right here is why we do what we do. Stable housing makes stable lives, and turning abandoned houses into affordable homes does so much more than give people a place to live. I wanna give people a place to thrive. I can't rescue people. But I can give them a safe place to land.

We don't charge late fees or deposits, because if you don't have the money what's a late fee gonna do. We pro-rate last months rent to make it easier and faster to move you in. And if you don't mind us working, we will usually let you start moving in early as soon as it's safe.

We generally include all utilities, because you deserve working heat and lights no matter your situation. The exceptions are when it's cheaper for you than me due to assistance programs. Also i help everyone apply for assistance. 15 years at DHS gave me the skills to navigate the BS applications.

We do as much of the work ourselves that we can. Extra money goes back into building improvements. We want to earn what you're paying us, it's a service job not passive income for us. We make a lot of sacrifices so people can stay housed with us. We want everyone to live.

My dream is to take one particularly old and beat up house and renovate it so we can live in the neighborhood ourselves. And i want to turn the kitchen into a community catering kitchen for our residents. But that's me dreaming big, it's amazing we got this far at all ❤️

I like to think of us as a community led housing co-op but honestly you could also call us ethical landlords. It's a horseshit job title but capitalism is horseshit all the way down so whatever. In the end, I'm gonna use our resources to buffer and protect people as many people as i can.
