I have spent my entire career listening to FedSoc types complain about liberal “activist judges” who “legislate from the bench,” and none of them are going to say a single blessed thing about Sam Alito rewriting the Voting Rights Act to say what he thinks Congress ought to have said

ballsandstrikes.orgSix Conservative Activists Killed the Voting Rights ActThe Supreme Court's conservatives have spent their careers working to kill the Voting Rights Act. They just did it.

What do conservatives always say when liberals criticize a Supreme Court decision? "Get Congress to pass a law," right? That is EXACTLY what happened here. In 1982, Congress explicitly overruled a Court case that narrowly interpreted the VRA. Today, Sam Alito said, nope, we were right all along.

The conservative justices talk all this shit about how they are mere faithful "interpreters" of laws that Congress passes. They are lying, but they are never lying harder than when, as here, their response to Congress passing a law they don't PERSONALLY like is "nah, we know better."

I'm tired of thinking about them, waiting in suspense for their next terrible decision, being grateful for every little reprieve, oh that could have been somewhat worse. At the very next trifecta, I expect Democrats to pass Court reform and we can talk about something else.

This country was founded on minority rule, when only men with property could vote right? Next to go is women’s suffrage for which so many knuckle-dragger “Christian” Nat—Nazis are working. SCOTUS wouldn’t uphold the 14th so why would they uphold the 19th??

It's almost like they had always been full of shit. Lying merely to foment minority rule and crush dissent legally, forever. I keep telling people, when the confederacy traitors lost and said time and time again "the south will rise again" we should have taken that as the obvious threat it was.
