This has been bothering me for months and I don’t know exactly how to phrase it since social media demands a “no nuance discussion” on it, but if you consider yourself an “ally” to trans people, than it’s your responsibility not to fall into the snares set out by the people that want them dead

These fucking Nazis will paint everyone they hate as weird and harmful with the most bad-faith, disingenuous reading of their lives. They will corrupt any nuggets of truth into whatever they need to whip up a mob.

If a “weird” trans person makes you uncomfortable? then block them and mind your own goddamned business. It is not worth falling into a hate parade because of it.

This was brought on by me encountering a trans artist who’d been “called out” for making mistakes when they were a mentally ill teenager. It’s hard to know details because it was paired along with the pettiest accusations imaginable. There are people years later still harassing this artist.

They have entire side accounts dedicated to drawing over and critiquing their art because they think the artist is some kind of gatekeeping vanguard who got away with murder. That’s how they justify this behavior a person on the street would say is insane stalking.
