A devastatingly low point today for Liverpool Football Club. The manager is sadly out of his depth and that’s been clear to all but the most sycophantic of fans for quite some time. He has to go, now.

Sycophantic? Come on, eh? Only three living people have managed a league title winning Liverpool. Have a look at the shite on the pitch. The cowards wearing the badge. Sack the manager but call the players for their role in it. Senior players too.

Like Mo’s “outburst” when he talked about all he’d done for LFC - nobody disputes or downplays that, he’s a true legend, but players are picked on what they can do now, not what they did. Arne won’t be forgotten, he’s also a legend, but what he’s doing now is what matters now. As sad as that is.

Soured me a lot on Salah when he did that. Slot was trying to slot the rot and in fairness, it worked for a while. If you're gonna have the ego of Ronaldo, you better be playing like him on the pitch.

I’d argue too many players know they’re first pick regardless of performance. Few fear being dropped. As for past success it’s exactly that. The past. As with players, if the standard drops too far we have to say goodbye. Title winning managers always knew that. The past doesn’t win games today.

Your first point is obviously true, but that's the result of decisions made that have been terrible and of which he is part. It's also down to him to keep players motivated even without competition. That's without talking about the utter mess we are tactically.

but if hardly any of the players are playing to their maximum, surely it is on the manager? u can have 16 players not in form and blame each one individually on them?

Salah had an incredible season but to say he carried the team and it had nothing to do with Slot is just not right. Slot moved Gravenberch who went on to win Young Player of the Year. Virg and Macca were also on the PL team of the year.

I’d rather not take anything away from him for last season, which is kind of what you’re asking me to do. How often this season has he really looked capable of being a manager at this level, handling the pressure, reacting to bad moments, getting the best out of his players?

Well it's what you're saying if you're saying he's out of his depth? Agreed he's had a poor season but so have a lot of our players and that's before you even get into the many mitigating circumstances.

Come on. If Salah puts away the absolute sitter he missed at 0-0, what then? Penalty miss on top of that. Mo is, sadly, holding this team back so much. Forever a legend, but right now just a big liability A poor season no doubt, but Slot deserves a chance with his own team with his star striker fit

This season had rebuilding written all over it. Salah should have been let go the summer. Signings need time to gel with Isak part of the mix. Squad depth not good enough, esp defenders, but is that Slot's fault? And of course Diogo on the eve of pre season 💔 Do not underestimate that

Slot says he’s heavily involved in transfers so yes, maybe it is. Can’t keep using Diogo as an excuse. To be fair he doesn’t, he mainly uses number of games and how other teams play for his excuses.

Maybe. What ifs and so on, Guehi could've worn red today. He doesn't, credit to him. But I'm convinced it's played a bigger part than we think, even if no one will say as much. Think of Robbo after Scotland qualified..

By his usual standards it was a sitter, and the penalty would have been consolation at best. Sitters get missed, goals get conceded, what matters then is how you react. Heads down, no changes to tactics or personnel, Slot stood hands in pockets looking lost. Sad to see, but that was the reaction.

Says much about the state of Salah, sadly. I agree about the attitude part. That's the thing we miss most from Jürgen. He made four subs, so no change in personell isn't fair. To be fair there may not have been much more to do, which says most about the players available and the opposition

Slot had no ideas what to do when City went ahead. He won the title for Liverpool, yes, it’s sad to see, yes, but he needs putting out of his misery. And it needs to happen now, before the damage becomes irreversible.

I remember January 2005 when Man Utd were 1 nil up at Anfield and Wes Brown got sent off on 60. Benitez looked so far out of his depth trying to change it. Following game rolled 2-0 away to Southampton. You’d miss the days before social media and instant gratification.
