Go see Wildwood. Seriously, don’t wait—go see Wildwood. What a piece of art. The love for the manual craft, for story that doesn’t hold back, for filmmaking that is not here to answer to stockholders, it weaves all through it. Incredible stuff.

And we had just visited Portland and seen some of those same sights. It's such a love letter to the city and its culture, then so much more than that.

What a cool world they've made. I selfishly hope Laika does sequels. But also I hope they do whatever the fuck they wanna do next, and not just sequels because it's financially a safe choice (assuming it does well—I think it's gonna have long legs no matter the box office weekend numbers).
