/9 After everything that's happened, I've decided to donate $500 to @trevorproject.bsky.social to directly support the work they do for trans people. I want to apologize to the trans community for the hurt caused by my recent Fem Malfoy artwork on Twitter/X, and for my silence here on Bluesky.

/9 For those unaware, I recently made a gender-bent Malfoy artwork over on Twitter as part of a popular art Trend there. I wasn't thinking about JK Rowling or politics. I simply loved the character design and wanted to make my own version. There was no hidden message or intention to hurt anyone.

/9 But something I made purely for fun ended up becoming something much bigger than I ever expected. I want to make this absolutely clear: I do not support JK Rowling's transphobic views, nor was my artwork intended to promote her beliefs or fund any of her anti-trans champaigns.

/9 I understand that my intentions doesn't erase the unintended impact my artwork may have had. Looking back, I wish Id been more mindful of how it might be received, especially given the hurt n damage JK Rowling has caused to the trans community.

/9 I'm also painfully aware that my artwork attracted people who used it as an excuse to spread hateful and transphobic comments on twitter. Seeing something I create being used to spread hatred towards a community I support is my worst nightmare and has been really upsetting for me.

/9 I want to make it absolutely clear that those people are NOT welcomed in my community, nor do I consider them my fans. This donation is also my way of showing where I stand. I don't want there to be any doubt about my support for trans people or the wider LGBTQ community.

/9 I stayed silent on Bluesky because I never posted the artwork here and didn't want to bring the controversy onto another platform. But I understand how that silence may have felt dismissive. I'm sorry. I've been overwhelmed by everything and never meant to ignore anyone's concerns.

/9 I understand that some people may see this donation as performative or as an attempt to win back people's approval. But I'm not donating to buy forgiveness or convince anyone to change their opinion of me. I simply want to do the right thing n something positive for folks I care about.

/9 I know some trans folks have already made up their minds about me, and some may never forgive me. Regardless of that, I will still continue to support trans folks and the larger LGBTQ community. My support has never been conditional on whether or not people supported me in return.

I'm just bewildered why you thought it was a good idea. I mean I personally make fanart of series I enjoy, and you cannot separate JK Rowling's beliefs from her """art""" Like obviously people can be dumb. I'm dumb all the fucking time, but like...? Is it really that hard not to do an art trend?
