you know how the evil thing in dead space wants to turn all living beings into dead tissue and clump it all together into like a planet-sized mass of undead flesh. well saying "ethical AI is possible" is like saying "hypothetically you could make the big necrotic flesh planet through ethical means"

you can't! you'd have to remove the dead flesh that used to be people. the dead flesh that used to be people is the whole thing

You could maybe make a new one that's only trained on public domain stuff Though that wouldn't eliminate the other issues (e.g., energy usage)

there's already common pile/common corpus and llms trained on them, but they're not big enough to get much useful work out of them
