The UK added eight ships to its Russia list on 1 Oct. Three are ice-class LNG carriers the US blocked back in June 2024: ALEKSEY KOSYGIN, PYOTR STOLYPIN and KONSTANTIN POSIET. Four more are on no other list we follow, and one, BEBEK-E, was already on the EU's.

OFAC still lists POSIET as ZVEZDA 045. The last time we heard her, on 12 Aug in the Sea of Okhotsk off Hokkaido, she was broadcasting the UK's name. hullcipher.com/vessel/9904704 Has anyone seen the other four on AIS lately, and under what names?

Correction to post 2: we hadn't looked yet. In our archive since 1 Aug, three of the four were on air under their own names, on Russian numbers. We last heard CHAIVO on 30 Sep off Nakhodka, PORTOVYY on 27 Sep off Zhoushan, China, and AVACHA on 10 Sep off southern Africa. GALLE ENERGY, never.
