Good incident commanders LIKE incidents. They'll find ANY excuse to talk about their favorites, how they unfolded, and the thorny, weird edges that no one could make up even if they tried.

It's like vintage car fans showing off their latest mods or pilots talking in the hanger about their close calls. You LITERALLY cannot shut them up about this stuff. If your incident commanders consistently avoid talking about their work, it may be a signal they don't really want to be on the bench
