There's apparently "number of finalists for an award" discourse happening, and I'll just say this: If they did work for the thing, they deserve recognition for the thing.

I'm fine with arguments about the cost of trophies. I am even mildly sympathetic to time constraints when you have very large numbers of names to read (though I still think this is bullshit; just read the names, coward). But beyond that, fuck off. Recognize people's work.

Also, as I understand it there’s no rule that every finalist named is owed a trophy or a table seat or whatever (in much the same way people are consistently reminded that the Hugo Voters Packet isn’t a guaranteed entitlement), and in the past large groups have worked with Cons on those logistics

Skiffy and Fanty is a finalist for an award. They gave no name limit but did have a trophy limit, which seems reasonable given costs. We had no problems with this.
