The former chair of the BK Dems is trying to call a meeting at 10pm tonight to pick a new chair, in defiance of a judge’s order and using rules that the court struck down. No one should attend this meeting. Democrats respect the results of elections and the rule of law.

Just going to say this out loud. “If your enemy cheats and you play fair. You will lose.” We played fair in the face of indignities many times before. This election season however, I will not advocate for strategies that preserve our moral highground at the cost of our liberty. Nor should you.

Seems like a thoughtless argument.. Here’s an analogy: If you are in a fist fight and your opponent steps back, out of reach, draws a Glock 9mm from their waistband and levels it at your chest. You are saying.. that, while you also have the ability to draw a gun.. it is morally wrong to do so?

If someone pulls a gun on you and you can’t run away then sure pull out a gun. Real life, however, and especially the act of building a fair and equal Democratic Party, requires a little more nuance than some silly rendition of the philosophical trolley problem.

I prefer, playing and winning fairly, and watching them flail hopelessly while embarrassing themselves repeatedly to cheating. You can keep the moral high ground if you put the work into it. It’s thankless and tiresome, but it’s possible.

Do you consider losing the majority in the house the Senate while we have a sitting republican president, to be… winning? He used it to create a personal para, military force with A Budget larger than most National militaries…. And he’s using it against the most vulnerable people in the country.

You do realize that you’re arguing about this in a discussion about the Old Guard if the Democratic Party of Brooklyn New York vs. Democratic Reform Clubs in Brooklyn New York, right? On the reform side, we believe a more transparent and efficient party is the perfect way to stop Trump, forever.
