Excellent article. Hope the officers prevail. A partial remedy not contemplated in the article is impeaching Hegseth, which probably should have happened a year ago for other reasons.

Meritocracy at it's finest. Funny how Hegseth who was a bad news anchor under any other time is now the Alpha and Omega of defense now.

The short answer is, No, once certified. "Congress has entrusted the promotion selection board process largely to the respective Secretaries of the Military Departments, not the Secretary of Defense. And the Acting Secretary of the Navy had already certified that these officers are qualified."
