Aimirim presenting their solutions (Saripe, Kuab, Arandu, Shaman,...) Enhancing universal automation capabilities. With these tools, you do things in 10 times less times than before.

AI and automation Demo of "fb-IDE" a vscode plugin 🎉 - generating code / ecc - generating tests (closing the loop !) - composition

After lunch break, Gregory makes us move a bit... Then start the interview with Luciano from ARC. "Openess is not an option anymore" 📣

Schneider went from hardware controllers in 1968 to open, Software Defined Automation today. What a journey ! Pushing now for vendor-agnostic solutions, which UAO enables. It belongs to all of us, so we move forward together. Exciting time ahead of us 👌

How Yokogawa glue OPA and UAO to go from concept to reality. All steps in mind, interoperability, intégration, system management, accountability, relialability.

Opening on AWS for manufacturing, showing their knowledge of OT. Then, participation with many Open standards in the history. The crossover between IT (~weeks) and OT (~20 years). How to close the gap with an AWS framework ! 👀

Ending the day with a group workshop (I was in group 3, focusing on académic. Then rooftop in Milano. Nice day 1, 70 people motivated about UAO !

J&W Showing "component based programming" Clear and readable code with intense use of adapters. Thx to this, extending automation application is ready, wo breaking changes!

Chat of the rôle of IEC61499 in Open Process Automation. Comparing it ot low code / no code of IT. The graphical nature of automation can make it easy for adoption.

The graphical argument cuts both ways for me. I never read my agents' code now. Review agents and CI do that. A function block diagram would be harder to hand off than plain files and tests. Do industrial folks want to see the logic, or just want it to run?

Bernard from the University of Reims on how he teaches automation in general + a focus on #IEC61499, and the challenges of getting students from requirements (GRAFCET) to code. "you have to start well to finish well" 🤔
