The AX point is underrated. Plenty of teams chase GEO mentions without checking what happens when someone actually lands from an AI answer — often the same broken onboarding that was already ignoring human visitors, just with worse expectations set by the citation.

The distinction matters. We see founders rank fine in AI answers but get no traffic because the citation doesn't link anywhere useful, or the context is wrong.

Good split. Where it gets messier for B2B: a Perplexity or ChatGPT answer often cites just 3-4 sources total, so being mentioned but not the cited link still loses the click. AX matters, but so does being the one actually quoted, not just referenced.
