Beavers are on the payroll in Colorado. 10 years ago, Brian Sullivan, head of Colorado Parks & Wildlife’s Wetlands for Wildlife grants program, saw 1 or 2 grant applications for beaver-related projects each year. I gotta tell you, few things have made me happier than the beavers returning to the Detroit River. You can spot 'em trundling along our riverwalk on important business all the time. I love it.
