Good morning #Septopolis. As this "workshop" is intended first to build something from the ground up, we will begin with foundational elements. If the typical "key resources" or even biomes as we know them don't apply: tell us why (like magic or whatever)!

I have to start this out by saying this made me realize I never fixed my map’s scaling when I mathed out the size of the planet. This fixed it. The main city-state portion of Galas Castoll exists across their latitudes of ~32-40 degrees and has the equivalent of a warm-summer Mediterranean climate.

This puts them in a mixture of temperate broadleaf/mixed to coniferous forests. So… lots of wood and arable land! But most importantly, as with any human settlement, there’s several rivers that come from Ciell Miragos to empty into the Arihlic Ocean GC was gradually built around (so much fish).

The northeastern sections of the Galas Castoll region are a bit of a tropical desert before being walled off by the Fyev’s thin band of a mountainous region further northeast, which then gets into tropics and bayous and mangroves and asalvyr; a thing for another time if you will. 🐝🍖🍯

As a fun little addition, there’s quite a bit of turquoise found up in those parts. It’ll just need a different name since our etymology doesn’t make sense in this world. Something to workshop another day, perhaps in conjunction with tomorrow’s buddy…
