Good morning #Septopolis. If you're using this to build something and haven't picked one yet, take today and ponder it (I did this last year in fact!). Then, tell us about how it got this name. It could be serious and directly from in-world or it could be a silly in-joke amongst your friends.

Most of Andino Andina takes place in a tiny (fictional) mountain town called Cordóba in the Andes mountains. The name came from a brand of coffee I like, I just moved the accent to change the pronunciation :)

Rancho Vallecas, on Costa Maya, Mexico does not exist. The place used to be a real place with another name, but was swallowed up and destroyed by "progression" and "development". So it lives on only in my memory and this series.

This would be a simple answer for the month if I was only doing GC as a whole, but I think I want to also ponder why the focus districts are what they are. But first: GC. Galas Castoll was kind of a vibes-pondered name back in 2021-ish(?) meant to loosely mean “Great Castle.”

This was likely not the original name of the first settlements that became it, but one that was born out of it gradually consuming neighboring smaller settlements into a larger, reinforced amalgamation. Because yeah, it kind of became something frighteningly great.

Ashbury Heights: this is the name of one of my favorite music groups and I wanted to make a nod to them because it’s also got that perfect kind of neighborhood/subdivision kind of name. In universe, it’s probably named after Some Guy/Gal/Pal with the surname Ashbury.

Miralleda: in old notes, this section has been referred to as the Mirror District. It has a purpose in MaMo’s time and I wanted to make a nod to PPG Place back where I grew up. But now I’ve given it a newer name thanks to the aforementioned Coreloceans. It’s still mirrors. A lot of them.
