The US is the biggest threat so China is ready to defend itself. There are plenty of business ties right now between China and Taiwan so stop the invasion hysteria. Japan is already screwed by the US. The US is in decline and hegemony is one of the reasons. China likes stability & trade not chaos.

How do you know that? Fishing fleets don’t require military support and wouldn’t justify the cost of island building. Reference South Pacific as an example. Maybe your bias is showing? American imperialism is a world wide problem; 200+/- military bases.
