this is deadly serious now. this is easily the most consequential moment in time of my entire half century on the planet. and what will anyone in a position to do anything do? the moment will not be met

a guy won temporary control of, technically, one third of a federated lattice of rules and organizations that themselves sit atop 50 other state governments, and many more municipal, county etc etc. that guy is now threatening to use that authority to wipe out an ancient people for no known reason

this is, definitionally, an emergency of the highest order. you'd be hard pressed to see anyone in authority acting like it. this, definitionally, cannot stand. this, definitionally, cannot happen. that it is, unimpeded, is incontrovertible evidence that our system is broken beyond repair
