I oppose such a rule. Part of the Olympics is to show that we can set aside our differences and compete in peaceful and mature ways. We can show that we are not collateral damage of the war profiteers.

If you invaded another country with no provocation your country should be barred from the Olympics, and the World Cup. We definitely qualify.

The Olympics were always meant to be something that brings people of the world together, even if they're at war.

They vote don't they? The population votes. They decide if wars or the Olympics are more important to them. But you don't get to be out there living your best athletic life while your country genocides your competition.

WAR? Haven't you heard? There is no "war" anymore. Now we have special operations, law enforcement missions, security operations, anti-terrorist missions, etc. Much more convenient than war.

I don't have an issue with the Olympic games. I have an issue with countries who are murdering the athletes in other countries, and making it so that they can't compete, competing in the Olympic games and off living their best lives.

Why punish the athletes for the crimes of their country's political administrations? Have the athletes compete under a neutral, non-political name and flag. Isn't that what Russia's athletes did for years? Don't cut off the athletes' noses to spite their country's face.
