The smart folks behind the OpenPocket RC have gotten the ESP32-C5 to do FM demodulation on 5.8 GHz analog FPV video. They made a PCB with a 6 bit step ladder DAC to output analog CVBS, so that the module can be used on FPV goggles. I took another approach:

This is truly a watershed moment as supplies of the mythical RX5808 are starting to run low. The range is not very good, but could detect drone emitting 200mW at 10 meters. There's some specific use cases where this is enough.
