This study notes some savings offsets relating to loss of administrative jobs (presumably at insurance payors and the like), but I submit that removing the hurdle of providing health insurance would allow small businesses to grow and allow more people to start new small businesses.

Another related outcome would be for smaller-scale family farms: Lots of farmers hold other jobs, like at warehouses or distribution centers, just to get health insurance.

Single payer replaces bank lending (medical debt) with government spending Saves money by getting rid of two middlemen: Insurance companies & banks. So has a deflationary bias.
