This is without a doubt the worst time for scholars in recent history. Please support one of our members under attack by a right wing campaign on higher education in Texas: Dr. Iván Chaar López.

Dr. Chaar López is an American studies professor at University of Texas Austin, and an esteemed scholar doing critical research on border-surveillance. He received a near-unanimous recommendation from faculty and outstanding external support letters but was still denied tenure without explanation.
