Went to Pride yesterday, it was nice, had fun. Was a bit weird as no one close to me could come with me this year, but I didn't want to miss it either... It's always nice to see folks like you, sharing experiences. However, it also felt very isolating due to a lack of accessibility... -🌙

Like, the music was so loud it was a genuine struggle to not get overwhelmed and to prevent a meltdown. The abundance of cigarettes when you have a pulmonary disability is also awful. For the music, been told by some that it's the point of it, that it's to be loud and obnoxious, to be visible. -🌙

But I'm sorry, you don't really make folks visible when you end up making invisible the part of the community with neurodivergencies that have a hard time with overstimulation. Some Prides have implemented a quiet section, but every time I take a look at it it's just.. empty... or very confusing. -🌙

Like, every time I looked for it it was either impossible to find or just no one's there, which reinforces the feeling of isolation. Hell, I've found some protests to be easier to attend than Pride... I hope things will improve and Pride will get more accessible in the future, we can do better. -🌙
